New Chivas (Shack) Snookyville

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

Now I know you are talking B.S mate. I was there from 10am 'til 10pm today, all day.
Anyway, as I said, you are more than welcome to come in and ask for me, my name is Dave and I have never hidden that.
Sometimes I'm upstairs, sometimes I'm downstairs, that's my job.
But the staff know where I am and they will be happy to call me for you.
I might even still give you a 10% discount even though it won't be your 1st visit.
BTW, you still haven't answered my question - how was the service?

like i said, i was there at 8pm on the 2nd floor, only 2 guys playing pool, 1 guy watching tv (he didnt looked up), none of them dressed like they worked there so i didnt bother to look for you, i left at 8.30pm.

service was ok, big smile on the girl face

Looks like there are some positive changes taking place. I walked in the place (beach level) and got a "hello" and smile from the girls behind the bar. Twenty seconds after I sat down I had a menu in my hands and another smile from the cute waitress. I was asked what order I would like my food brought to me and that was done. The potato soup (my favorite) was great and hot. It was 4pm in the afternoon and I was the only customer so they started up some music for me, but when I asked them to turn it down or off as I wanted to enjoy the sound of the surf, they did so. As I was leaving the restaurant I got smiles and a good by. Big change over the last time(s) I was there with no/little service and gruff/unhappy waiters/waitress's.

I went up to the bar and met Ausy Dave the manager. Friendly guy and sounds like he has lots of food service/bar management experience. He only took over the restaurant downstairs that day, but looks like changes are already happening. I hope this trend keeps up as I really like the place and its setting. Before, it was run by a committee of owners/managers that obviously had no idea how to run a restaurant /bar, and/or how to keep staff. This visit all the staff had smiles and where there to serve customers. Keep up the good work Dave.

My dad was in there today and chatted to you Hotdigr I was surprised you were downstairs when he told me - I've only just read this last bit of thread about your promotion - you offered to open the upstairs for him to play pool (and pimped your Saturday pool comp). Very nice of you. He said the place looked very clean and the food was good. All sounds good, mate. This was after he was last down a few months ago and downstairs was pretty much closed off and dark when he walked by at the same time. I'll try and pop in sometime soon.

Bolueeleh - Jamie is right. I s'pose I don't look like the manager. I was actually 1 of the guys playing pool, with a rather obnoxious, old drunken German customer, who demanded a game from me. Oh well thats what ya gotta do! I do remember you now and I apologise for not coming up and saying "G'day" which is something I usually make a point of. But I was busy trying to keep this bloke and his prying hands as far away from my staff as I could. Next time you come in I will definitely say g'day and make some time to talk to you.

Sailorman - thanks for your review mate. It was a pleasure to meet you and get to know you in person! I'm looking forward to your next visit.

CptRelentless - it was a pleasure to meet your old man too. What a character! We had a great couple of hours together and I'm looking forward to seeing him again soon ( hopefully for my fully pimped pool comp at 5.30pm on Saturday!) And also look forward to a visit from you. I will get down to your place also as soon as I can for a beer too mate.

Rozzie, you are a darln'! Looking forward to seeing you 3 very soon xo

Cheers fella's and girls, next beer is on me! :beer1: :beer2: :beer3:
