"Khmer Pub Street" and "Khmer Pub Lane" in Siem Reap

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

"Khmer Pub Street" and "Khmer Pub Lane" in Siem Reap

Post by General Mackevili »

It's been almost 9 months since I've been in Siem Reap, and I wanted to know if this area is still streets full of local beer gardens after beer gardens on dusty, unpaved roads.

Here's a map showing the location, which is across Route 6 around the Caltex Gas Station:

Last time I looked it up I don't believe it was easy to find, but now it's labeled Khmer Pub Street and Khmer Pub Lane.

Has it gotten much bigger now or something? Kind of shocked to see it labeled like that, as even the Barang "Pub Street" isn't labeled like that on Google Maps, only called "Street 08."

Yes, with added KTVs and a couple of "hostess bars" now too.

Wow, sounds much bigger now. Foreigners hanging out there these days?

Yeh siem reap is OK. Good cheap Khmer joints .

Locals aren't nasty like sinoukville which is becoming a giant gambling version of Pattaya.

Not many, it takes a little Khmer language skill to make the most of that area... though ordering beer and hookers appears to be a universally understood thing... no language needed at all.

Thanks. I'll have to check it out again in a couple months and put my Khmer skills to the test.

You can check out Taphul and the massage shops around the high school while you're at it.

There's a decent Khmer Pub Street in Kampong Cham with about a dozen beer gardens and a few KTV joints. Obviously not a single one has English anything.

Yes. Was there a few nights ago. Streets are paved now. I went with Khmer's and saw one other foreigner. Almost no English except for "$100 dollah" which I laughed off and asked what does a Khmer pay? No answer.

Look, if a girl wanted a foreigner boyfriend she would not be working there. I think the girls there are happy to make their $5-10 a night poring beers and sitting with customers for conservation without sex. I saw no girls leaving with customers or any VIP rooms. One tried to say rich Vietnamese magically appear and spend $100 which I again did not believe. I was getting the sales pitch. I have not gone back. Not interesting for me. Maybe your experience will be better.
