Could someone please tell me where is this place called 'Sharkey'. I stayed about 2 months in Phonm Penh till end of JAN 2016 at Blue Tongue and walkabout. Mainly hung out at Golden Sorya Mall and to a lesser extent a few times in walkabout. I know of Pontoon and walked thru there only a couple of times. But besides that at least in that area about the only other popular place I saw was say
' Heart of DArkness' though i never went inside and there is another smaller physical size bar real near there just a couple or so buildings south of and on the same side of st 51 as heart of darkness with quite a few customers and surprisingly even white foreign tourist females - forgot the exact name but think it starts with H. Anyway it's next to that place that sells fried rice with egg for $1.75 which was not too bad a deal for places that have menus and signs in English. Oh there is one more place that usually does not open or get going till around 3-4 am - kind of small with really loud music no a/c and overpriced beers at $2ea. It's kind of inside that mall area as you walk from say the big hangout area with several small bars to the bathroom and near to that bathroom at the parking lot .

Anyway is Sharkey the same as 'Heart of darkness' ? Or otherwise I don't think that sharkey place ever has many people or customers does it ? i certainly never noticed it unless it is NOT really near say the walkabout to Golden Sorya Mall street 51 area stretch.

if u spent ur whole time in the street 51 area , anywhere else would have been to up market for u

Sharkeys is not in the 51 GSM / heart area, probably why you have never seen it.

Hate to say it but you hang out in some really classy places, and yes that is sarcasm.

No it used to be a freelance place but now it's catering to the live music crowd.

There is normally still a few hanging around but is no longer one of the main selling points.

It's all about he music these days.
