Bg also sells some of the cheapest drinks in bkk in any type bar. Its always busy. If they can survive, any PP bar can on those margins. Why are you pro Barfine and rip off drinks? Own one?

ive never seen anywhere sell $5 lady drinks let alone $6 (other than the garage apparently)

ladydrinks whenever i buy one are either $3.50 or $4.
in the same bars if i was to buy a spirit mixer myself it would cost me $3.50 or $4.
so if i was to buy the girl a drink (and not a lady drink) it would still cost me $3.50 or $4.
so im sure you can work it out, that it doesnt cost me anymore either way,
the girl gets one dollar tip commission out of it, the bar makes a weaker drink or smaller glass

im not pro lady drinks and bar fines at all,
its not often i buy lady drinks, if i do its usually in moderation, and i dont really do barfines either,
no one makes you buy lady drinks or bar fines, i dont understand why people moan about it
yeah sure, moan about girls pestering you for drinks, but not about actually buying them/price, thats up to you,

Ok fair enough. Im 55 and wish to christ they'd leave me in peace with my beer to 'people watch' or chat to a pal. (in Los) maybe theyre less pushy down south. I'll be coming to have a look. Me and the general dont get on of late.

tbh there are some bars that say on the menu that a lady drink is the same price as a normal mixer drink + $1 (the ladys tip) which usually means around $4.50..
but if i do actually buy a lady drink i only buy them if they are a reasonable price, $3.50/$4 i dont have a problem with

Phnom Penh hostess bars sell 'standard' ladydrinks for $3 - $4, with $3.50 currently being the most common price.
A standard ladydrink is Coke, Sprite or fruit juice, with 10-15ml of alcohol in it. By comparison a customer's drink has 50ml of alcohol in it.
A customer can also buy a girl a 'premium' ladydrink, if she requests it AND the customer agrees to it. This premium ladydrink will have a full 50ml of alcohol in it if it's a spirit drink and will usually cost the price of the same customer drink plus $1.
Or it may be say a bottle of Heineken when it will be the customer price plus $1.
Some customers want the girl to drink vodka, tequila, or B52 shots (50ml). Again these are usually customer price plus $1, so they cost $4-$5.
The important thing is that the girl must ask the customer if she can have a premium ladydrink, so he is aware of the extra cost involved. Or if it is the customer requesting that the girl drink a full strength drink, she should tell him that it costs more.
Unfortunately this process doesn't always happen in some hostess bars, understandably leading to customer dissatisfaction. The menus in many PP hostess bars are also not very clear on all this, often just saying 'ladydrinks $3.50' which can catch out the customer if the girl doesn't explain any extra costs for premium ladydrinks.

Im not a complete curmudgeon , yet. I'm quite happy to buy a lass round for round - and bar food if she's good company. In a lot of Thai bars, after the tedious 'what your name - where your flom?" They're just whining constantly for a drink, with NO alcohol, or a 'sniff' of it. While I don't wish cirrhosis on my female company, I don't like bar girls taking me for a chump either.
