You really should listen to FLB, and also JL, your categorization of "bar girls"as one entity indicates you have little knowledge of them or at most superficial knowledge. The girls earning $600 an upward a month and living a fairly good lifestyle are not the same as the ones pulling in one to two hundred a month and certainly different to the girls pulling $3-5 short time in the "downmarket" brothels.

In my experience its very rare that a girl working in a hostess bar will rip off a customer, as it is not in their best interest, because they are generally looking for a long term relationship. I have never known personally of anyone having things stolen by a hostess and I have lived in Phnom Penh 20 years and visited quite a few establishments in that time. However I have known quite a few girls that have "scored" a foreign husband and ended up either leaving Cambodia or moving to the province.

I admit that there are a few bogan customers that treat the girls less than civilly and get what they deserve. I think your comment should read "You treat bar girls badly and you get what you deserve..

hey im the one doing them a favour, im the great White Knight sent from the rich lands of Europe to rescue a Damsel in distress every night and take them back to my castle and let them leave with enough money to buy a few bowls of rice that day, if it wasnt for brave Knights like myself the girls would starve to death, some people just dont appreciate our efforts

the girls that do the pinching tend to be the freelancers, girls you pick up around GSM or the Beach, the girls that steal are usually doing it to fund their Meth habit lol,
if a girl working in a hostess bar gets caught stealing, as you said its not in their best interest, the guy can easily just go back to the bar the next night, tell the boss what has happened, the police may be informed if the phone doesnt magically return, she will also lose her job, ive seen it happen before, with the girl being driven off on the back of the police moto, and as most people here know, nobody likes a Jao, her reputation will follow her to whatever bar she can manage to find another job in

Hey micmac don't be fattish. Is a skinny sixty year old guy better? In my experience with bar girls, admittedly somewhat limited. There must a bar somewhere that I haven't been to but I think it's a pretty good job.
You start late, get to eat with your mates, listen to shitty music that you love and then drink unlimited amounts of alchohol. If you feel like sex then there is often some man who is willing to take you to a far better room than you would ever live in and pay you a lot of money for a few minutes work.
Then the next day you do it all over again.
Nah, I think I would work in the shoe factory. Now that would be selling your sole.

Sorry dude i just have an issue with fat old men exploiting young women...but thats just my issue...even got into a punch up with this guy in thailand because he thinks just because he paid for one of the women he could treat her like shit....believe me im no white knight either..but the shoefactoty sounds like a good option.
