yeah just been looking on airbnb will most likely book a monthly deal through them, whats that other good website that has montly rent apartments on? i remember checking it out when i was in Thailand last year

haha yeah, i just cant help myself, although i avoid Walking street like the plague, over priced and full of tourists
Soi Diana/LK Metro, Soi 6/7/8 are the usual places i go out, often all in the same night lol
i do like the Pattaya beer garden for some afternoon drinks, think ive only ever ventured down walking street twice though
and an occasional afternoon trip down the darkside

Jamie; u never venture "across" Sukumvit to the dark side at night?
http://lovepattayathailand.com/darkside-pattaya/

just head out to Jomtien and stop in at the many condos, most have a notice board with available rentals or ask at the desk.
Many of the places on airbnb are not good deals, PLUS u pay a fee to airbnb ( the owner only pays 3%) Check out FB pages for rentals in Pattaya or look on Thai visa or PA

Soi 6, Soi Post office, etc were great 30 years ago,( i lived there in '84 for a year) now there daytime dumps

What exactly is the allure of Pattaya? Beaches? Sport? Women? I've been there twice and tried to like it, but it's like a dinosaur graveyard. The regular girls in Bangkok malls are stunning for the most part. Head over to Pattaya and the ratio of hot to ugly chicks is terrible. I honestly don't understand why anyone goes there. If you're 50+ maybe, but otherwise I don't get it. I suspect people just go there because they've heard of it from their friend in Birmingham or whatever town they're from. It's still steaming on because it's riding off it's reputation from 30 years ago or something. I cringed as I walked past 90% of the bars, even in the outskirts of town. Most look like they've been plying their trade for over two decades. *shudders*

As for the guesthouse, Jesus... 75k is a lot for an investment with a lot of risk. Let's say you've got a very high (50%) occupancy rate @ $5/bed. That's $2250 from the beds. Add in around $1000 from food and drinks. 3750-1500=2250x12=27 000x=$94 500
You could park your money in any bank and get the same return for very little risk.

of coarse, the bars are open all day, one of the novelties of drinking in Thailand over Cambodia
if we go to the Darkside we usually head there mid afternoon 3pm and head back to Central around 11pm

maybe dumps compared to past times, but still have a lot of hot fun girls, not many places can compare for what it provides

regards to the condos, im not atually sure how long ill be staying in Pattaya, will depend when my tax rebate comes in and i can plan my trip to Japan, and budget the rest of my funds
will no doubt venture to hua hin for a few days, by taking the new ferry

you dont have to be an old man to enjoy Pattaya, lots of fun to be had there for us younger crowd too
what is hot and ugly is purely subjective to the person, i love Isaan Girls over city Thais, and Pattaya is littered with them
i dont find the girls in BKK that attractive at all really
