Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

PHNOM PENH, Nov. 7 (FN) -- Malaysia-based Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad (TCMH Group), the franchise holder of Nissan brand vehicles, is seeking support from the Cambodian government to build an automobile assembly and spare part plant, a Cambodian senior official said Monday.

TCMH Group's president Tan Heng Chew unveiled the firm's investment plan in Cambodia during a meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo HE at the Peace Palace, said Eang Sophalleth, an aide to HE.

"Tan asked the prime minister to support his company's plan to build an automobile assembly and spare part plant in Cambodia," Sophalleth told reporters after the meeting.

According to the aide, Tan told HE that TCMH Group has 60 years of experience in automobile assembly and 45 years of experience in making spare parts. The firm has plants in Malaysia, Vietnam, and Myanmar.
