Phnom Penh Living - Areas to Avoid
Hi everyone
I've been looking at a few apartments around PP and was wondering about one area. Currently I'm staying near the Royal university with a friend. This area is fairly convenient workwise and I don't mind it.
I've found one that would work just south of the Royal Phnom Penh Hospital (Sangkat Tuek Thla?). I just wanted see whether this area was known for any exceptionally high crime drug use, violence etc.? I'm not too worried about bars, coffee and so on.
Feel free to jump in with any other advice
Cheers

Yeah, that sounds like a bad area. In any decent neighborhood they park their cars inside.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

What's with all the Lexus outside? Surely you wouldn't buy a Lexus unless you could afford to house it :^)

Hey, the armed bodyguard has to sleep somewhere.

Haha I see, the bodyguards. I haven't decided on anything yet, luckily I'm not in a rush. I had a look at the renters guide the other night too, very handy!

I'm in neighbouring Sangkat Tuek Laak. No need to worry about crime here (at least not more than in other areas...)Dru Jenkins wrote:I've found one that would work just south of the Royal Phnom Penh Hospital (Sangkat Tuek Thla?).
However, during heavy rain, Tuek Thla usually gets considerably flooded.
