Overstay and PP Immigration

Post by Jagged Spoon »

Just politely enquiring if anyone has a contact number for someone in Phnom Penh Immigration that might be able to help negotiate an overstay fine. If so could you possibly PM the number to me.

I understand that these type of requests are usually given short shrift, but in this case the idiot involved has got his life together as well as saving up the full amount of the fine, only to discover that it has just doubled.

Yes he is an idiot, but I know there are some good people out there.

Thanks

Thanks for the somewhat unhelpful response. But just to clarify, the reason for the request is so that the person in question can get an exit visa in order to, as you say, get his sorry ass home.

Paying the actual full fine is rare, afaik. If he rocks up to immigration with bags packed and a ticket out, I'd wager they'd take whatever he's offering and send him on his way.

$10 per day now, and must leave the country after 30 days of overstay.

Tell your "friend" to man up, and go to Immigration in PP in person (no way he'll be able to sort it out over the phone), he may be able to negotiate the fine, or if he's lucky he'll get a few nights free accommodation and a flight home
